I had the sweetest time with Donica and her family on the beautiful farm she grew up on, as her kids romped around and played red light green light.
My biggest recommendation for family sessions is to never tell your kids to, "smile!" or "look at the camera!" but rather pose yourself as you'd like to be photographed and let the kids fall in where they will -- which is often doing what your doing, since that's what kids want to do (if they aren't being told to do it anyway ;). Rather than getting photos of you making funny faces trying to get your kid to smile, this results in authentic, cute photos of the actual moment.
